# Laguna Ethos Kayaking Review: A Must-Do in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach, California is a beautiful coastal town with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. There are many ways to enjoy the outdoors in Laguna Beach, but one of the best is by kayaking. Laguna Ethos is a kayaking company that offers a variety of tours and surf lessons for all ages and experience levels.

I recently had the opportunity to kayak with Laguna Ethos, and I had a fantastic time. Our guide, Justin, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure that we were all comfortable and safe before we started kayaking. He also provided us with a lot of information about the area and the marine life that we might see.

We started our kayaking tour at Fisherman's Cove. We paddled out into the ocean and saw a variety of seabirds, including pelicans and cormorants. We also saw a few dolphins swimming nearby. Justin was able to answer all of our questions about the marine life and the area.

After paddling for a while, we stopped on a small beach to take a break. We had some snacks and drinks and enjoyed the beautiful views. We then continued kayaking back to Fisherman's Cove.

Overall, I had a great time kayaking with Laguna Ethos. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and informative way to explore the Laguna Beach coastline.

A Whale Of A Good Time!

Laguna Beach Kayak Tour

During your Laguna Beach kayak tour, you may see many forms of sea life. Some common species include spotted harbor seals, sea lions, and the most dramatic of all, Gray Whales! Our whales begin their life journey in Baja California Mexico where they are born in shallow protected lagoons. The newborn gray whale starts out as a 15 foot long 2,000 pound baby. Most gray whales migrate to the Bering, Chukchi and Beaufort Seas. Thats an epic journey of 16,000 to 20,000 km. One of the longest migrations of any animal on earth! They move north hugging the coast line with their calves. We have even seen them during our laguna beach surf lessons! These beautiful beasts can reach a length of 49 feet and can weigh up to 90,000 lbs. They feed by filtering food through baleen ( brush like plates.) Baleen is made from keratin, the same as fingernails.

COMMON DOLPHINS ARE SO PLAYFUL AND ACROBATIC, THEY SHOULD BE CALLED GYMNAST DOLPHINS!

We often see Bottle Nosed Dolphins and Sea Lions during our kayak tours of Laguna Beach but, Common dolphins are our most abundant flippered friend. A typical pod ranges from 5 to 200 individuals but can be seen in numbers in the thousands! There are over 400,000 Common Dolphins in southern California alone with the majority of them hanging out in the Laguna Beach marine preserve. Marine preserves provide an abundance of food for Dolphins such as herring, Squid, and sardines. Common Dolphins range from 6 to 9 feet in length and can reach 200-300 lbs.Mpa’s also provide the opportunity for scientists to study these animals which are in there natural unmolested habitat. The more we know, the more we can protect the beautiful intelligent creatures.

When deciding the name for my company, I wanted to think of something that would hold relevance to the cause of what it is we stand for as a company. After a few days of mulling over ideas, Ethos came to me. So why ethos? Lets start with the generic definition. Ethos, (noun) the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations. Source (google dictionary) Ethos largely boils down to Credibility in the art of persuasion. At Laguna Ethos, we believe that credibility is key in earning our guests trust. We strive to live out the three dimensions of ethos every single day. With Competence, good character, trustworthiness and caring for others. Our guides and instructors have over 25 years combined experience and have received hundreds of five star reviews. We love showing our guests some the most prized gems that Laguna Beach provides. We believe that every individual deserves to witness the unrivaled beauty that Laguna Beach has to offer. From Spotted Harbor Seals to majestic Gray Whales, we look forward to sharing special moments on the water with you soon!

Best,
